Project Overview
Ronan Collections needed a digital space that did justice to the craftsmanship and character of its art pieces — not just a website, but an online exhibition. The goal of this project was to design a product experience that placed the collection front and centre, letting each piece speak for itself within a layout that felt considered, unhurried, and true to the world the brand inhabits. For an art and crafts brand, how the work is presented is just as important as the work itself.

The Challenge
Designing for art is a discipline of restraint. The temptation to make a website feel impressive through heavy design can easily end up competing with the work itself rather than supporting it. For Ronan Collections, the central challenge was building a digital exhibition that stepped back and let the pieces take centre stage — where every layout decision, every spacing choice, and every typographic call existed to serve the collection, not overshadow it.
Achieving this level of considered simplicity within a single week required fast, confident design decisions and a clear understanding of the brand’s aesthetic from the very start.

Our Strategy & Approach
The design process was anchored in one clear principle: the collection comes first. Everything else — layout, typography, colour, spacing — was chosen to support that. The process opened with a deep look at the Ronan Collections brand and the nature of the pieces themselves, using that understanding to define a visual language that felt quiet, refined, and gallery-appropriate before any screens were designed.
Figma was used end-to-end — from early wireframes that established the structural logic of the exhibition layout, through to high-fidelity screens that brought the full design to life. Particular attention was given to how individual pieces would be displayed: generous whitespace, clean typography, and minimal UI chrome to keep the viewer’s focus exactly where it should be. The one-week window demanded that design decisions were made with conviction from the start, with a focused review cycle that kept momentum without compromising the level of care the project required.
